When God meets a man
who honours Him in secret, He exalts and uses his life with power to transform
the history of men. (Oswald Chambers).
We share with you some of what missionary Iliseu wrote.
“We have been
here for five years taking the Gospel to the people in the communities of Baia
de Camamú, and we try to do it in the best way. We are happy when we walk
through the villages and meet people who have heard of the Lord through our
testimony.
It is beautiful to arrive at a community and be received by people in such a
simple way, as was the case in the community of Toc toc. Girlene was washing
clothes at the font in the middle of the forest, the children bathing there,
without electricity, without a refrigerator, without a lot of stuff we have. We
do not see sadness in their eyes, but the joy of mothers carrying their sons in
their arms and a full basin of clothes on their heads. The Lord has given us
the privilege of being with these people, in these surroundings, much swamp
land, hot sun and much rain, sometimes calm waters and at other times strong
winds, big waves and dark nights.
Despite all
this, the Lord has always taken care of us.
This month is the final stage of our lives when we will bring our mission here
to an end and dream about a new field. This leaves us a little afraid, but
confident that the Lord will guide us, and in that place we want to, once more,
dedicate our labour doing the best.”.
The Lord is
the one who calls and He is the one who will redirect our lives and ministry.
We praise the Lord for the love and dedication of this couple and ask you to
stop a moment to pray for them and for this new stage in their lives. Pray too
that the Lord will give us other workers whose hearts will burn with love for
this people that God loves so much.
The work on
Ilha Grande will be taken care of by workers Pr. Oscar and Mariles as of next
month.
Please pray
also that we will find another couple to substitute workers Marcus and Paula
who are ending one more stage in their work and will return to Pará. Our
commitment, work and prayer should increase, as the fields need labourers,
supporters and intercessors. You are part of this Ministry.
Thank you for
your care and participation in this work. God is in control of all things and
attentive to the needs of His children.
A big hug in
Christ,
Pr. Abraão da Silva

“And He said to
them, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few. Therefore pray
earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest.'.”
