WHERE?

WHAT FOR?
The Island of Santa Bárbara is situated, strategically, among seven other islands. Our objective is to reach the eight communities of the region of Turiaçu starting with Santa Bárbara, planting there a structure ideal for the ministry.
This Project envisions the construction of a center for evangelical activities, education, health and the Community development with the local population and neighbors, as well as a house for the missionaries, and accomodation for the teams, sports gymnasium and classrooms.
"At the beginning of 2016 we received our first medical team on the Island of Santa Bárbara made up of a gastroenterologist, a dentist, a physical therapist, a nurse and a psychologist. More than 300 people were assisted in four days. For many of the inhabitants, over forty years of age, this was the first timein their lives that they had received medical assistance. Mr. Marquinhos (62), greatly moved, hugged the doctor and said that if she had not come, he would not know about the problems that were detected."
WHAT OUTREACH?
Artesian fishermen who live in a situation of family disstructure, caused by physical needs, emotional and spiritual. There are lots of parties in the village with alcoholic drinks, gambling, promiscuity and violent quarrels. Many children enter sexual life still in their childhood.
The island has approximately 1.200 inhabitants| 130 families. The other seven islands of the region, have a total population of approximately 4.500 persons.
HOW?
Presently, when we receive teams from churches, different denominations and regions of the country, we seek to promote a program in accordance with the profile of the volunteers that will meet the needs of the community. We have already had medical assistance, training of Community teachers, bazaar, art and sports events. With the installation of a Christian Social center, we will promote daily activities.
TEAM
Presently we have three missionaries. We hope, still this year, to have one more couple of missionaries.
WHAT DO WE HAVE?
The terrain for construction of the CSC; two used orthodontal chairs, a stretcher, and children’s library books. We count on the work of voluntary engineers.
