Since August/2006, when we made our first journey to the cluster of islands at Bailique/AP, the greatest challenge was to partner with churches ready to face long hours sailing; with bad weather on the voyages, due to the constant tide changes (strong waves), lack of basic infrastructure such as light, water and lack of diverse food.
VILA PROGRESSO
Despite the circumstances, the Lord gave us, in October 2008, the vision to build an Advanced EMAF Base, that was inaugurated in March 2009 and where some projects work with “Sweet Home”, Health &Life, Digital Inclusion and Sports, and also the Evangelical Community Church of Bailique, named by the population: Sweet Home Church.
The challenges are further “fueled” by the desire of the partners to spread the Good News mainly where Christ is not named (Romans 15:20).
VILA SÃO PEDRO
Reconstruction of the church in Vila São Pedro that, due to erosion by the strong current of the river, was desmantled and is being rebuilt in another place. Part of the material is being re-used. Meetings are held Weekly in the home of the Community.
VILA FREGUESIA
We are arriving, with the Good News at the Comunidade de Freguesia, where there is no missionary. We envision the planting of a church in this Community by next year.
The Community is very needy and besides the teaching of the Word, we hope to help the people with the distribution of clothes, shoes, basic food baskets and dental assistance.
MARINHEIRO DE FORA
EMAF has made trips to the Community of Marinheiro de Fora that has shown itself very receptive to the Gospel.
WHAT DO WE NEED?
A speed boat to facilitate access.
More missionaries.
Complement to missionary support.
More church partners.
