One of the main sources of income on the islands of the Delta do Parnaíba, besides the extraction of crab, is fishing. And one of the fish that is mostly sought by the fishermen is the yellow pescada that, besides being much appreciated for its flavour, is of greatest comercial value. This fish reaches 15 kilogrammes in size, in our region.
Besides marketing its meat, there is another source of income which is its belly, once thrown away with its intestines. The fishermen make up to R$1.500,00 per kilogtramme for the yellow pescada belly.
